News05/02/12 West Regionals Congratulations to Will Hipwell who finished 2nd in the Boccia England West Regionals and qualified to the National Finals! 19/12/11 Winter Break We have broke up for the holiday period. We start back at Ely on the 6/01/12 and Impington 8/01/12. 10/08/11 Boccia Court Line Marking We now have 2 boccia court line markings permanently put down at Impington Sports Centre where we meet.
11/07/11 National Pan Disability Boccia League Finals- Bronze Medal Winners Camboccia Cannons finished third in the Finals. Drawn in a hard pool group with last years champions SAS Scorpions and U19 National Champions Notts Epicness. Camboccia beat SAS 6-2 and also beat Epicness 5-4 , which meant the Cannons went through to the Semi-Final against Bury Aces which the Cannons lost 5-3. The Cannons played the Shambles from York for 3rd place and won 7-2. Camboccia are now the third best team in the country. It was a great all round team effort and well done to all! Phil won the BC1 category and Rachel was runner up in the BC2 category. 11/01/11 Ely Standard Sports Awards: Camboccia Club Coaches John And Sam Wright won the Liam Fairhurst Award for their services to the community. 18/11/10 LIVING SPORT AWARDS Camboccia were nominated in the Cambridgeshire Living Sport Awards. The club got runners up in the Community Sports Club of the Year Category. It's a great success for the club to be recognised and well done to everyone at the club who have made it a success! 01/10/2010 FREE TASTER SESSIONS! We have now 10 from the club who are capable of providing a boccia session and refereeing games. A BIG WELL DONE to, Sam Wright, Nicki Myers, Alex Donlon, Rachel Dinnebier, Hannah Wright, Josh Donlon, Ash Myers, Irving McCormick, John Wright and Shaun McCormick. 24/04/10 Camboccia now meet in 3 venues around Cambridgeshire. Boccia Leaders Award: Level 1 Course duration: A 4 / 41/2 hour course with a requirement to deliver 2 hours of boccia to achieve accreditation. (This is self-certified) Course aim: To provide individuals involved at community and recreational levels with a basic understanding of the sport. It is suitable for community workers, leaders and individual players (e.g. those involved in Local Authority Youth Games, individuals and staff of residential homes, sports clubs - boccia specific and multi-sport, after-school clubs etc.) The course will equip delegates to:

7/03/10 Camboccia will be holding 3 free taster sessions at different venues around Cambridgeshire over the coming months. Anyone is welcome to turn up on the day. Dates: Wed 7th April 10.15am-12 noon: One leisure, Westwood Road, St Ives, PE27 6WU Wed 14th April 2.15pm-4pm: Paradise Centre, Newham Street, Ely, CB7 4PQ Wed 2nd June 10.15am-12 noon: Cherry Hinton Village Centre, Colville Road, Cambridge, CB1 9EJ 6/03/10 The second Herts/Cambs league meeting took place in Hatfield the home of the Eagles. For Camboccia is was a dismal display losing all 3 matches. In the first match Camboccia got off to a great start and by the 4th end Camboccia were 5-2 up. In the 5th and 6th end Camboccia totally collapsed with the Ninjas taking 9 points. The second game was a very close game, but the Knights just edged it. The final game saw the Eagles outplay Camboccia with a deserved win. 9/12/09 Thanks to John Lewis we have received our first ever donation of ?50. Also thanks to Tami BrownGraphic Design and So Inspire Me Graphic Designers, who both made us flyers for free. 9/12/09 The last session for 2009 will be on the 13th December. We shall resume training back on the 10th January 2010 at the usual time. 6/10/09 Camboccia have entered into the National Pan Disability Boccia League 2009/2010. We will play in the Herts + league against 2 teams from Eagles BC and 2 teams from North Herts. |
